Rosemary L. Severson, 74, of 1211 Garfield Ave., died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a private family visitation Tuesday. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1929, in Dubuque, daughter of Nicholas and Margaret (Kirkpatrick) Steichen. She married Milton Severson on Oct. 16, 1948, in Dubuque; he preceded her in death on May 18, 1982.

She was a member of the Dubuque Craft League and a vendor at Dubuque Farmers Market for many years.

She had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Ann (Tom) Emery, of East Dubuque, Ill., Jean Vorwald, of Dubuque, and Donna (Tom) Weydert, of Farley, Iowa; two sons, Robert Severson and Carl (Connie) Severson, both of Dubuque; six grandchildren, Chuck (Kayte) Emery, Pam (Don) Herbst, Emily Vorwald, Vince Vorwald, Jessica (Greg) Howell and Tony Severson; nine great-grandchildren, Morgan Rosemary, Corwin, Adam, Autumn, Brandon, Haley, D.J., Brad and Sidney; three sisters, Rita Steichen, of East Dubuque, Mary Lou Kennedy (Richard Konrardy), of Dubuque, and JoAnn (Mike) Malec, of Madison, Wis.; three brothers, Robert (Loretta) Steichen and Raymond (Pat) Steichen, both of Dubuque, and William (Mary Ann) Steichen, of Appleton, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Steichen, of East Dubuque, and Judith Steichen, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; a sister, Mary Pauline; and three brothers, Kenneth, John "Jack" and Glen.

A thank-you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, and the Wendt Regional Center, Dubuque. Also to Dr. Roger Ott Sr. and Dr. Lawrence Kukla of Medical Associates in Dubuque.
