Mrs. Peter J. (Mildred M. "Millie") Fah, 86, of 2428 Queen St., died at 1:20 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on Jan. 28, 1917, in Dubuque, daughter of Peter and Christina (Schmidt) Kowalske. She married Peter J. Fah on Dec. 6, 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish.

Millie was a full-time wife, mother and homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed reading.

Surviving are her husband, Peter J. Fah; two daughters, Elaine E. (Ed) Welu and Linda L. (Ervin) Auderer, both of Dubuque; a son, Peter J. Fah Jr., of Dubuque; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and a sister-in-law, Louise Kowalske, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lou Mae Kowalske, in infancy, and Bernadine Reed; and three brothers, LaVerne, Arthur and Forrest Kowalske.

Memorials may be given to Tri-State Dialysis, 1500 Delhi St., Dubuque, Iowa 52001.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Salas, Dr. Whalen, Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Lengeling and the nurses and staff at The Finley Hospital for their excellent care and many kindnesses.
