Joseph J. Sitterly, 77, 2428 Queen Street, died at St. Anthony's Home Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock after an extended illness.

The body is resting at the Haudenshield Funeral Home, 2170 Central Avenue, from where funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock to Sacred Heart Church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

He was born in Dubuque April 16, 1866, and had lived here all his life. He retired from the C. M. and St. P. Railroad shops eight years ago after having worked there for a quarter of a century. Mr. Sitterly was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Survivors are his wife, Pauline Hense Sitterly; four children, Mrs. Hilda Shireman, Alfred
Sitterly, and Mrs. Ernest (Stella) Holmes, all of Dubuque, and Raymond Sitterly, Los Angeles,
Calif.; two step-children, Mrs. Soren Degn, Vinton, Ia., and Joseph Brake Dubuque; one brother John Sitterly, Dubuque; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
