Mrs. Olive M. "Ollie" Owen Johnston, 92, of Stonehill Care Center, 3485 Windsor Ave., formerly of 850 Boyer St., died at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Stonehill.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today in Roselawn Chapel at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where friends may call after 10 a.m. today. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

She was born on Aug. 9, 1910, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Isaac and Mae (Madison) Monson.

She grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from the former Grant High School in 1928.

She was married twice in life, her first husband, Dan Owen, and her second husband, Robert Johnston, both preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Grandview Avenue United Methodist Church and the Ruth Naomi Women's Circle at the church.

All family members have been blessed over the years with hand-crafted treasures lovingly made by Olive.

Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are four daughters, Dana R. (Bob) Boleyn, of Dubuque, Sharon M. (Jim) Murdock and Donna M. (Dennis) Fitzgerald, both of Cedar Rapids, and Patty (Rick) Kalso, of Lake Orion, Mich.; a son, Tom P. Owen, of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Jewell Finch, of Cedar Rapids.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Monson; a sister, Jean Campbell; a grandson, Marty Murdock; and a great-grandson, Jesse Fernandez.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Stonehill Care Center and the Grandview Avenue United Methodist Church.
