James Leon Gloor, 74, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Dubuque, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at home.

Memorial services will be at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Naples, at a later date. The Fuller Funeral Home, Naples, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gloor worked at Crescent Electric Co. for 42 years managing various branches in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. He retired in 1991.

He was born on July 27, 1928, in Rock Island, Ill., son of Louis and Dorothy (Nelson) Gloor. He graduated from the Burlington (Iowa) High School in 1946.

He served in the Army from 1946 to 1948.

He married Delores Wagler on July 31, 1948, in Burlington, Iowa; she passed away in 1964.

He then married Alma D. Buxman on Nov. 6, 1965, in Quincy, Ill.

He was a member of the G-men of The Glades Golf Club and St. Ann's Catholic Church, both in Naples. He also was a member of the Elks Club.

Surviving are his wife, Alma Gloor, of Naples; sisters, Phyllis Fitzgibbon and Marylou Malloy, both of Burlington; sons, Ronald (Pamela) Buxman, of Hortonville, Wis., James M. Gloor, of Rochester, Minn., and Jon L. Gloor, of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Vicki L. Buxman, of Tampa, Fla., Julie A. (James) Furda, of Brainerd, Minn., and Mary M. (David) Sanguinetti, of Naperville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Dorothy Gloor; two brothers, Tom Gloor and Robert Gloor; and an infant daughter, Margaret Gloor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of your choice and Hospice of Naples.
