Cletus A. Nauman

Cletus A. Nauman, 82, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 1515 Altura, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Stonehill Care Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 29, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1926, in Sherrill, Iowa, son of Alphonse and Selma (Harvey) Nauman. He married Jeanette Trieweiler on April 3, 1951, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church; she preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 2008.

Cletus served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for more than 30 years and was a self- employed carpenter.

He was a faithful member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

He was very generous with his time and talents and loved to play euchre.

Surviving are a son, Bob (Carol) Nauman, of Dubuque; six grandchildren, Shawn (Ken) Nauman-Larson, Jacob (Jacki) Nauman, Joy Nauman, Jonathan Nauman, Holly Kelley and Sarah (David) Burris; six great-grandchildren, Guthrie, Ana, Gabriel, Andi, Bella and Elizabeth; and a brother, Donnie (Charlene) Nauman, of Sherrill.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Reginald Nauman.

A Cletus Nauman Memorial Fund has been established with the funds to be distributed to his favorite charities.
