Ida Katherine Pohl

Ida Katherine Pohl, 96, of Ennoble Manor Care Center, who formerly resided with her nephew, Richard and Dianne Schueller, at 21758 Pilot Grove Road, Epworth, Iowa, died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Ennoble Manor.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. The Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on April 24, 1913, in Peru Township, Sherrill, daughter of Leo and Anna (Wagner) Schueller. She attended school in Sherrill.

She married Joseph A. "Amos" Pohl on Jan. 18, 1939, at Holy Ghost Church in Dubuque; he preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1986.

Ida and Amos farmed on Oakland Farms Road for 45 years.

Ida enjoyed doing embroidery and playing cards. She also loved her cats and dogs.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Hilda Schueller, of Dubuque; nephews and niece, Loras Schueller, Stanley (Mary) Schueller, Gerald (Alice) Schueller, Richard (Dianne) Schueller, Donald (Shirley) Schueller, and Joan (Chris) Lange; and great-nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Rose (Charles) Schueller and Emily Schueller; and three brothers, Lawrence Schueller, Edward (Ann) Schueller and Anthony (Irene) Schueller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 60 S. Algona St., Dubuque.
