RONALD R. "Rog" KOHL

Ronald R. "Rog" Kohl, 47, of 411 Gilmore St., died at 12:29 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, of natural causes.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mr. Kohl was employed as a dispatcher for Art Pape Transfer for 14 years.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1955, in Dubuque, son of James P. and Janet E. (Beresford) Kohl. He attended Hempstead High School.

He served with the Navy on the USS Leahey Destroyer.

He was a former baseball coach for the Key West Little League. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and auto racing fan. He especially enjoyed his weekly road trips in the pick-up with his brother, Dick.

Ron will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Surviving are a son, Heath R. Kohl, of Menominee, Ill.; his parents, James P. and Janet E. Kohl, of Dubuque; a sister, Kelly A. Kohl, of Dubuque; six brothers, Jim F. (Jane) Kohl, Dale R. Kohl, Robert G. (Chris) Kohl, Ken J. (Donna) Kohl, Richard A. Kohl and David M. Kohl, all of Dubuque; his former wife, Julie K. Kohl, of Menominee; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Kathy Tharp, of Dubuque.

A Ronald R. Kohl Memorial Fund has been established.
