Mr. Henry Dietz, 84, of Stonehill Care Center, 3485 Windsor Ave., formerly of 1001 Assisi Drive and Port Washington, Wis., died at 2:35 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Dubuque. Burial will be in Valballa Cemetery, Milwaukee. There will be no public visitation. The Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on May 3, 1918, in Milwaukee, son of John and Elizabeth (Hild) Dietz. He married Violet B. Brunner on April 27, 1946, in Milwaukee.

He grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from the Boys Technical High School in Milwaukee.

He was a World War II Army and Air Corps Veteran. While serving in the military, he was stationed in Sardina and Dijon, France, and flew 57 missions, the majority of which were over Germany.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Dubuque.

Surviving are his wife, Violet B. (Brunner) Dietz, of Dubuque; a daughter, Patricia S. (Chuck) Impastato, of Galena, Ill.; a son, Timothy J. Dietz, of Camarillo, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jason T. Meyer, Tracey E. Dietz and Kelly M. Meyer; two great-grandchildren, James E. Bussman and Sean T. Meyer; and a brother, Robert J. (Mary Ellen) Dietz, of Bremerton, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Cpt. Thomas R. Dietz; and a brother, John Dietz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Dubuque.
