Well-Known Young Man Passes Away After a Long Illness, Aged 31 Years.
Anthony Hemmi, aged 31 years died; this morning at 5 o'clock after a lingering illness of a year's duration. The deceased was born and reared in North Dubuque and was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Engelhardt Hemmi who conduct the dairy on the Sageville road opposite the Shooting park. Anthony Hemmi was an exemplary young man. Cut down in his prime his death is not only a sad blow to the bereft parents, but to the many friends who realized his worth. His taking off; will cause profound sorrow. The deceased was a member of Holy Ghost church, where funeral services will be held Monday. With the parents, one sister, Mrs. Alex Hasler, are left to mourn his loss.

Anton Hemmi, son of the well known dairyman Engelhardt Hemmi, died Saturday morning at the residence of his parents, north of Dubuque. Mr. Hemmi, who was 31 years of age, was quite ill for some time, and died fortified with the last rites of the Catholic Church, of which he was a devout and consistent member. The Funeral took place Monday morning, with services at the Church of the Holy Ghost. Interment followed at the German Catholic Cemetery. The bereaved family and relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends.
