Paul J. "Weasel" Schlosser, 41, of 2740 Buena Vista St., died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mr. Schlosser worked in construction most of his life.

He was born on Oct. 4, 1961, in Dubuque, son of George H. and Leona A. (Fondell) Schlosser. He attended Dubuque Senior High School.

Weasel liked watching stock car races, playing euchre and going to Monday night bingo. He enjoyed doing yard work and cutting wood for the fireplace. He was an accomplished wood worker, building decks and making wooden deer. He was always ready to help anyone.

Surviving are four sons, Jeremy Schlosser, Jamie Schlosser, Paul J. Schlosser Jr. and Ryne Schlosser, all of Dubuque; his mother, Leona A. Schlosser, of Dubuque; a sister, Mary L. (Marvin) Ritt, of Dubuque; five brothers, Stephen (Jayne) Schlosser, of Omaha, Neb., Ronald (Chris) Schlosser, Gary (Kathy) Schlosser and Lary (Patti) Schlosser, all of Dubuque, and Kevin (Jeannine) Schlosser, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Wanda (Millman) Simpson and her son, Bill Simpson, of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his father, George H. Schlosser, in July 1987.

In lieu of flowers, a Paul J. Schlosser Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of The Finley Hospital Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit for their care and concern for Paul.
