Bernice F. Thill

Bernice F. Thill, 90, of Bethany Home, formerly of 2939 Elm St., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Bethany Home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where there will be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1918, in Dubuque, daughter of Nickolas and Christina (Schueller) Trieweiler. She married Eldon Thill on Jan. 9, 1948, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 2005.

She was a lifetime member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

Bernice was a loving wife and mother who was dedicated to her home and family. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Surviving are four sons, Jerry Thill and Jeff (Pam) Thill, both of Warsaw, Ill., Jim (Peggy) Thill and Jon (Vickie) Thill, both of Dubuque; and nine grandchildren, Jaimie Thill and Jessica (Allen) Smalley, Brian and Mike Thill, Tyler and Abigail Thill, Mollie, Ryan and Colin Thill; a sister, Ruth Nauman; and a brother, Gerald Trieweiler.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Leo, Irvin "Mollie", Ralph "Whitey", Raymond and George "Jiggs" Trieweiler; and three sisters, Sybilla Hanson, Ida Hirsch and Jeanette Nauman.

Memorials may be given to Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hospice of Dubuque and Bethany Home.
