Robert W. Nicks 1925-1995

Robert W. Nicks, 69, 1860 Adair St., died at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, 1995, at home.

Services will be noon Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in St. John’s Cemetery, Placid, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Ed Siegert – Al Didesch Colinial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where there will be a parish wake service at 6:30 p.m.

Mr. Nicks worked at Thermolyne Corp. for more than 20 years, retiring in 1988.

He was born July 30, 1925, in Dubuque, son of Edward and Addy (Williams) Nicks. He married Ellen Horsfield Feb. 7, 1945, in Rochester, Minn.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Ellen Nicks, and a daughter, Mrs. Guy (Cathy) Fuhrman, a granddaughter, Peggy Fuhrman, and two great-granddaughters, Mariah and Jessica Fuhrman, all of Rochester, N.Y.

A Robert W. Nicks Memorial Fund has been established.
