Floyd G. Rundle

Floyd G. Rundle, 90, of Crawfordville, Fla., formerly of La Crosse, Wis., and Dubuque, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Eden Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The Harvey-Young Funeral Home, Crawfordville, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on Dec. 2, 1917, in La Crosse and grew up in Dubuque.

Floyd served with the 95th Division Military Band in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.

After the war, he earned his master of music education degree at Northwestern University and returned to Dubuque to serve as coordinator of music in the public schools.

Summer vacations were spent traveling the world with his wife, Dorothy, who was a travel agent. They visited a total of 99 countries.

After his retirement in 1983, Floyd and his wife moved to Florida to join their daughter, Genette. They lived there ever since, with their greyhound, Sadie.

His kind, cheerful, optimistic manner will be missed by all who knew him.
