Donald J. Blichmann

Donald James "Jim" blichmann, 70, of Shawnee, Kan., formerly of Dubuque, passed away Saturday, may 12, 2001, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amos Family Funeral Chapel of Shawnee, where there will be a rosary at 7:45 p.m.

Juk was retired from the Army, where he was a civil engineer for the Corps of Engineers. He served his counrty in three tours in the Vietnam Was, volunteering for each and was highly decorated.

Jim was a member of the American legion post 370, an avid volunteer with the American Cancer Association and a member of the Mid-America New Voice Club.

Surviving are his second wife, Phyllis lange Kubitz Blichmann; four daughters, Kathleen (Bob) Adkins, of El Paso, Texas, Patricia Blichmann of Spring Hill, Kan., and Denise Blichmann and Julia Blichmann, both of Olathe, Kan,; a stepdaughter, Kristin Kahle, of lake Geneva, Wis.; a stepson, Gregory Kubitz, of Dubuque; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Particia Blichmann, in July 1981.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Association and the Mid-America New Voice Club.
