Mary A. Pottebaum

Mrs. Larry H. (Mary A.) Pottebaum, 67, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Chuck Billmeyer, in Inver Grove Heights, Minn., formerly of 635 N. Burden Ave., Dubuque, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Fairview Ridges Hospital, Burnsville, Minn.

Private family graveside services will be at a later date at Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque. There will be no visitation. The Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on July 16, 1935, in Dubuque, daughter of Raymond and Marie (Hahn) Manahl. She married Lawrence H. "Larry" Pottebaum on Oct., 31, 1953, in Dubuque; he preceded her in death on April 21, 1972.

She was a full-time wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with her family. Mom was the center of our family and we thank God for making her our mother.

Surviving are four daughters, Betsy L. (Gary) O'Rourke, of Dubuque, Pam J. (Chuck) Billmeyer, of Inver Grove Heights, Lori A. (Dominic) Vargas, of San Antonio, Texas, and Peaches M. (Rusty) Burmahl, of Victor, Iowa; six sons, Mark T. (Deb) Pottebaum, Michael L. (Kathy) Pottebaum, Raymond E. Pottebaum and Timmy J. Pottebaum, all of Dubuque, John H. Pottebaum, of Apple Valley, Minn., and James J. Pottebaum, of Minneapolis; and 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
