John F. Byrne, a well-known miner of this city, who has resided here for five years, died at his home, 262 East Mercury street, last night about nine o’clock after a brief illness. Mr. Byrnes was forty-nine years of age and was born in Cascade, Iowa. He leaves a wife and several children; William, a son, living at Reno, NV; Mrs. Maud Sheehan and Miss Annie Byrne, in Seattle; Misses Sadie, Pearl and Ruth and Charles Roy, living in Butte. He also leaves five brothers (Patrick Henry, Charles Lyon, Ralph Thomas, Frances and Orlando) and three sisters (Margaret Gibbons; Blanche Radigan and Zarah Alden) in various parts of the country. Mr. Byrne was a prominent member of the Miners’ union and the A.O.U.W., and had many friends in this city. The funeral arrangements will be made later, when relatives are heard from.
