Services for Edward Leo Byrnes, 86, will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Eggen and Lance Mortuary. Byrnes died Tuesday in a Santa Rosa convalescent hospital after a long illness. An Iowa native, he moved here eight years ago from Oakland where he owned a sporting goods store. He is survived by his wife, Anna Byrnes; step-children, Francise Florentino, Danville, Marian Hamilton, Pleasant Hill, Margaret Ceresa and Roberta Hamilton, both of San Jose, and John Cantwell, Oakland; sister Adeline Crowley, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends may paythier respects at Eggen and Lance. Private burial will be in Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 811 College Ave., Santa Rosa, 95404. Edward L. Byrnes died December 23, 1960.
