Mildred M. Wirzbach

Mrs. Robert (Mildred M.) Wirzbach, 87, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 790 Lawther St., died at 2:45 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2008, at the Stonehill Care Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Miller Funeral Home, 1185 Route 35 N., East Dubuque, Ill., where there will be a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.

She was born on June 6, 1921, in Sherrill, Iowa, daughter of Herman J. and Mary S. (Jungblut) Nauman. She married Robert C. Wirzbach on June 10, 1946, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sherrill.

Millie was a member of

Sacred Heart Parish, its rosary society, its regular and resurrection choirs. She also was a member of the 62+ Club, the Stonehill Auxiliary, where she volunteered for many years, and was a league bowler for over 50 years.

Millie loved baking, crocheting and sewing.

Surviving are her husband, Robert C. Wirzbach; six children, Janet (Tom) Noel, Susan (R.J.) Miller, Robert K. (Jeanette) Wirzbach and Karen (Don) Curler, all of Dubuque, Jean (Sandy McCormick) Wirzbach, of Columbia Heights, Minn., and Thomas (Angie) Wirzbach, of Dubuque; 17 grandchildren, Tara (Andrew) Noel and Travis Noel, both of Dubuque, Tyler Noel, of Austin, Texas, Rachel Miller, of Madison, Wis., and Scott Miller, of Dubuque, Karla (Chuck) Reichenbach, of Buckeye, Ariz., Dianna (Jeff) Hanson, of Racine, Wis., Michael Wirzbach, of Dubuque, Julia (Pete) Kenyon, of Davenport, Iowa, Alicia Curler, of La Motte, Iowa, Brian and Eric Curler, both of Dubuque, Alexandra and Benjamin Wirzbach, both of Dubuque, Nick Johnson and Zachary and Amber Freund, all of Dubuque; 10 great-grandchildren, Logan Trifone, of Dubuque, Faith, Elias, Ezra and Seth Reichenbach, of Buckeye, Peter, Eliana and Sophia Hanson, of Racine, Isaac Penzol, of Davenport, and Alexis Curler, of Dubuque; 11 brothers and sisters, Gregory Nauman and Henry (Eileen) Nauman, both of Dubuque, Norbert Nauman, of Franklenton, La., John (Ann) Nauman, of St. Donatus, Iowa, Herman (Marge) Nauman, of Dubuque, La Vonne Hoffman, of Dubuque, Germaine (Loras) Freiburger, of Des Moines, Teresa Kroll, of Lake Zurich, Ill., Agnes (Bob) O'Neill, of Janesville, Wis., Adele (George) Peters, of De Witt, Iowa, and Margaret "Dolly" (Ken) Ziegenfuss, of Delhi, Iowa; a half sister, Lucille Beau, of Dubuque; a sister-in-law, Doris (Thomas) O'Brien, of Dubuque, and a brother-in-law, Karl Wirzbach, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three half sisters, Marian Bales, Sister Elenore Nauman and Clara Spoden; a half brother, Eldon Nauman; father and mother-in-law, Herman and Amelia Wirzbach, four sisters-in-law, Helen and Leora Nauman and Lois and Bonnie Wirzbach, and two brothers-in-law, Gene Kroll and Bob Hoffman.

Memorials may be given to Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubu
