Donna J. Rettenmeier, 66, of Dubuque, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Resurrection Catholic Church. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a wake service at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Rettenmeier retired from John Deere Dubuque Works as an expediter on Oct. 31, 2001, after 25 years of service.

She was born on March 7, 1942, in Bellevue, Iowa, daughter of Arthur and Alvina (Herrig) . She married Ronald Rettenmeier on July 29, 1983.

She was a member of Resurrection Parish.

Donna was devoted to family. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was a talented seamstress and an excellent cook. Her favorite pastimes were attending her grandchildren's activities, taking family vacations and tending to her flowers. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald; her son, Dr. Michael Fleege, and his wife, Maria; her daughter, Tammy Fleege Lattner, and her husband, Thomas; five grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas and Lauren Fleege, Alyssa and Kaitlin Lattner, all of Dubuque; brothers, Paul (Norine) Hoxmeier and Ronald, all of Bellevue, David and Thomas (Colleen), of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Diana Kauder and Linda (Dave) McAllister, of Dubuque; and special family, Jennifer and Alex Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren, twin infants Faith and Hope Fleege.

In lieu of flowers, a Donna Rettenmeier Memorial Fund has been established.
