Charlotte A. Oberbroeckling

GARNAVILLO, Iowa -- Charlotte Ann (Krogman) Oberbroeckling, 78, of Garnavillo, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Garnavillo, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Garnavillo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Garnavillo. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the church.

She was born the daughter of Edward Krogman and Helen (Saeugling) Krogman. She married Donald Oberbroeckling on Jan. 29, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guttenberg.

She taught country school, worked for the Guttenberg Care Center and was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Donald; a daughter, Marcia (Christopher) Franklin, of Danville, Ill.; three sons, Michael (Barbara) Oberbroeckling, of Garnavillo, Mark (Jane) Oberbroeckling, of Austin, Minn., and Gary (Lynne) Oberbroeckling, of Swisher; eight grandchildren, Erik, Ashley and Ryan Oberbroeckling, Jill and Ryan Franklin, Curtis and Kyle Oberbroeckling and Allison Oberbroeckling; a brother-in-law, Duane O'Brien, of Volga; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, LaMae O'Brien.
