Geraldine "Gerry" Harves

Mrs. Geraldine "Gerry" Harves, 62, of 16370 Coventry Lane, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at her home.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the chapel adjacent to Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Sorenson officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the funeral home.

She was born on Aug. 3, 1945, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of Frank W. and Bernice (Melnik) Holz. She married Dr. Allen Harves on Nov. 9, 1968, in Williamsburg.

Mrs. Harves enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, gaming, tennis and reading.

She was a member of Tri-T, Dubuque Friendship Force and the Mercy Hospital Service Club.

Surviving are her husband, Dr. Allen Harves, of Dubuque; two daughters, Heather Harves, of Tucson, Ariz. and Erin Harves, of Kansas City, Kan.; her father, Frank W. Holz, of Tucson; two brothers, Frank (Gail) Holz, of Urbandale, Iowa, and John C. (Leslie) Holz, of Tucson, and their children, Meridith, Emily, Hannah, and Olivia Holz; father-in-law, Ervin Harves, of Dickens; and a brother-in-law, Richard (Ann) Harves, of Dickens, and their children, Kristi (Brian) Fisher and Stephanie (Matt) Essick.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Holz; and her mother-in-law, Jean Bernadine Harves.
