Juanita E. Baumhover, 98, of Bethany Home, formerly of 2204 Ascension St., died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Bethany Home

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Aug. 27, 1909, in Waterloo, daughter of Dwane E. and Rose (Donahe) Bower. She married Martin J. Baumhover, on Jan. 21, 1933, in Freeport, Ill.; he preceded her in death on March 3, 1990.

She graduated from high school in Waterloo. She also graduated from the Finley School of Nursing in Dubuque in 1931, and she worked as a private duty nurse for many years. She also worked for the Dubuque Visiting Nurses Association for a number of years.

In the summertime, Juanita enjoyed working in her rock garden.

She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, Dubuque.

Surviving are her daughter, Ruth Baumhover, of Dubuque; and her son, Ralph (Donna) Baumhover, of Hazel Green, Wis.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
