Lucille M. Corbett

Lucille Mary Corbett, 96, formerly of 2955 Kaufmann Ave., died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Heritage Manor.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 3, at St. Raphael Cathedral. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1912, in Dubuque, daughter of Nicholas and Catherine (Ehl) Altman. She married James W. Corbett, in 1939, at St. Raphael Cathedral; he preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1983.

Lucille was employed at Piekenbrock Shoe Factory in Dubuque, until her marriage.

She was a faithful member of St. Raphael Cathedral for 70 years, during which time she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Lucille was a homemaker, she spent her Sundays attending church and baking pies for her family. She and her husband enjoyed playing cards with their card club and babysitting their grandchildren. Lucille loved doing crafts and taking walks regularly. She was always active. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her three children, Mary Kay (Bob) Ward, and their children, Robert Jr., Angie, Katie (Keith) Vogel and Steve (Laura), James J. Corbett, and his children, Chris and Dr. Anne (Scott) Pace and Patty (Ron) Richey, and their children, Angela (Mark) Crowley and Holly; three great-grandchildren, Quinn, Ivan and Brandon.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Manor for their loving care.
