Helen I. Schoenauer

Helen I. Schoenauer, 82, of Dubuque, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Hoffmann-Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at the funeral home.

She was born on Jan. 3, 1926, in Dubuque, daughter of Vernon and Goldie (Schmahlamberger) Pinnow. She married Edward H. Schoenauer on Aug. 9, 1947.

She worked at the General Dry Battery Factory, in Dubuque, for many years, where she met her husband, Ed.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed cooking, canning, playing cards and country music. She especially enjoyed traveling and camping with her family. She will be deeply missed by all.

Surviving are her husband, Edward Schoenauer, of Dubuque; a daughter, Laurie (Kevin) Mihm, of Dubuque; four grandchildren, Logan and Olivia Mihm, Dale and Tim Maly; and a sister, Bette (Marshall) Franz, of Salem, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Maly; and a brother, Fred Pinnow.
