LeRoy W. Frost

LeRoy Wesley "Frosty" Frost, 84, of 14674 N. Cascade Road, formerly of Humke Road, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Hoffman Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens Cemetery, south of Dubuque.

He was born May 20, 1923, in Dubuque, son of Roy and Mary Neva (Bradley) Frost.

He married Jeanette Dunkley on Sept. 28, 1946, in Dubuque; she preceded him in death.

Frosty was a veteran of World War II and was employed at the former Dubuque Packing Co. from 1942 thru 1981.

He loved to fish with his buddies and to play poker, euchre and gamble. He was a kind, soft spoken man who loved his family, his "adopted daughters and sons" and his friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Rob) Peacock, of Coggon, Iowa, and Connie (Rick) Long, of Dubuque; grandchildren, Heather (Mike Fuller) (Frost) Maloney, Hannah Peacock, Meghan Peacock, Cory Long and Kyle Long; great-grandchildren, Aly and Max Maloney; and his longtime special friend, Dorothy Culbertson.

He also was preceded in death by a son, David W. Frost; sisters, Barbara Brown and Sarah Campbell; and brothers, Charles Frost and William Frost.
