Harvey F. Blosch, 91, of 10957 Parrot Drive, Peosta, Iowa, formerly of 2000 West Third St., Dubuque, passed lovingly into the Lord's arms at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, surrounded by his family.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the church.

He was born on March, 30, 1926, in Key West, son of John and Mary (Repphun) Blosch. He married Mildred E. Treanor on Jan. 29, 1947; she preceded him in death on April 20, 2003.

Harvey served our country in World War II in the Navy. He saw action in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He was an instructor at the Navy Reserve in Dubuque until 1958.

He worked for the Nurrre Glass Co., Pittsburg Plate Glass Co. and retired from Dubuque Glass Co. He was a glazier, starting a three generation tradition. He was a lifetime member of the Glazier's Local 581.

Harvey moved in with Gary and Renee the summer after Millie died, whom right until his death he missed immensely. These last years, he loved to ride the garden tractor and make sure that the lawn was mowed and the flower beds were weeded. He was fond of cars and was constantly being reminded by Gary that he needed to slow down. He loved to make sure that the dogs, Packer and Daisy, had extra treats. He was famous for sneaking them table food and then finding himself in the dog house. He took the greatest pride in his family with his son Gary being his shining star.

Surviving are his son, Gary (Renee), of Peosta; four grandchildren, Michael (Melinda) Blosch, of Peosta, Nicole, of Dubuque, Ashley, of Waverly, Iowa, and Alexis, of Peosta; he had a great-granddaughter, Kaitlin; two brothers, Robert (Florence) Blosch and Kenny (Doris) Blosch, both of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by his sister, Helen; and two brothers, Paul and Carl.

Harvey's family wishes to thank Hospice of Dubuque and the staff at Mercy Skilled Care for all of their recent loving care of Harvey.
