Marlys Ann Hall

Marlys Ann Hall, 70, of 9832 Highway 52 South, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at home of complications from Parkinson's Disease, surrounded by her loving family .

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael Cathedral, with Rev. Paul Otting and Monsignor Robert Vogl officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

She was born on Aug. 4, 1937, in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of Lawrence and Fern (Miller) Knipp. She married Ronald B. Hall on June 8, 1963, at Sacred Heart Church in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was a homemaker most of her life. She loved baking, the outdoors, her garden, animals and enjoyed doing art work, sketching and drawing.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald; three children, Christine, Jeffrey and Kimberly Hall, all of Dubuque; two brothers-in-law, John Luebbers of Shell Rock, Iowa, and Richard (Pat) Hall, of Waterloo, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ivan Knipp, and sister Mary Luebbers.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, especially Traci, Dr. Garmes and Dr. Kelley, and nurse Tammy, for all the loving care they gave to Marlys. A special thank-you to Sr. Maureen Fury and Sr. LaDonna Maternach, for all their help.
