Wayne R. Patterson, , 72, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of 3025 St. Anne Dr., Dubuque, died at 5:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at Bradenton Hospice House, of Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Services will be held today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bradenton. The Brown and Sons Funeral Home, Bradenton, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on June 19, 1935, in Dubuque, son of Ronald and Lena (Thumser) Patterson. He married Carolyn Schueller on Oct. 17, 1959.

He was employed for several years at the former Dubuque Packing Co., Apple River Chemical Co., Keystone Gelatin and Tropicana Products of Bradenton.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Carolyn; two sons, Patrick (Patsy) and Steven (Lori), both of Bradenton; a daughter, Jill (Mark) Weber, of Toronto, Ontario, Cananda; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Norman and Bill.
