Hershel Sanders

Hershel "Venoy" Sanders, 54, of 1085 Clara Court, died at 9:52 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at home.

There will be no local visitation or services. Services will be held in Sayre, Okla., with burial in the Sayre Doxey Cemetery. The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. Sanders worked for Suttner American Co. in Dubuque.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1953, in Pampa, Texas, son of Hershel L. and Betty M. (McRae) Sanders. He married Catherine Irene Logan.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine, of Dubuque; his mother, Betty Sanders, of Sayre; five children; and nine grandchildren.
