Robert Haferbecker

Robert Haferbecker, 79, of Sunnycrest Manor, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at Sunnycrest Manor, from heart disease.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1923, in Dubuque, son of Rubin and Edith (Nank) Haferbecker.

Surviving are a brother, Gene (Dorothy) Haferbecker, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Edith Chitwood, of Madison, Wis.; three nephews and three nieces; and a lifelong friend, Melvin Bennet.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Virginia Naabb.
