Dale J. Krapfl

Dale J. Krapfl, 52, of Dubuque, formerly of Dyersville, Iowa, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, following a sudden illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

He was born on June 3, 1955, in Manchester, Iowa, son of Roy and Kathleen (Bartels) Krapfl. He resided at Area Residential Care at Carriage Hill in Dubuque.

Dale enjoyed music, car rides, root beer floats, outings, the Fourth of July fireworks and especially his family and friends.

Surviving are his mother, Kay, of Dyersville; two brothers, Keith (Becky), of Dubuque, and Kevin (Maria), of Dyersville; eight sisters, Kathy (Kerry) Trimble, of Waterloo, Iowa, Vicky (Wayne) Wessels, of Manchester, Tammy (Jeff) Osterhaus, Lisa Krapfl, Kim (Karl) Loeffelholz, Karri Krapfl and Jennifer (Steve) Wessels, all of Dyersville, and Jackie (Glen) Naber, of Eldridge, Iowa; 15 nieces, two nephews, three great-nieces and two great-nephews; and many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1987; and his brother, Dean, in 1992.

The family wishes to express a special thank-you to the ARC staff and his extended family for the excellent care, compassion and friendship given to Dale throughout the years. You were always there for Dale, and he loved each of you very dearly.
