John J. Butlett, 64, 523 Rhomberg Ave., died at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, after being seriously ill for three weeks.
Friends may call at the Behr Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday. Services will be from the funeral home to Sacred Heart Church at 10:15 a.m. Saturday with burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Born March 11, 1889, at Sherrill, son of the late Joseph and Theresa Engel?urt (sic) Butlett, he came to Dubuque as a child and had lived here since. He was a route man for the Meadow Gold Dairy for many years.
Mr. Butlett was a member of Sacred Heard Church, of the Holy Name Society of the church, of United Commercial Truckdrivers and the Truckdrivers Union, Local No. 421. He was married to April 27, 1919 to Katherine Lucy at Galena, Ill.
Surviving are his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Fleckenstein and Mrs. Regina Nicks, both of Dubuque; two brothers, Lawrence Butlett, Dubuque and Anthony Butlett, Aurora, Ill., and nieces and nephews. He was preceded by three sisters, Mrs. John (Theresa) Tigges, Mrs. Robert (Czeszentia) (sic) Jotham and Mrs. Peter (Catherine) Botzet, and a brother, George Butlett.
