DURANGO, Ia. -- Charles Becker, 79, Durango, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Finley Hospital after a short illness. Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Haudenshield Funeral Home, 2170 Central Ave. Services will be at 2:30 Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Willming, pastor of the Sherrill Congregational Church will officate. Burial will be in the Sherrill Congregational Cemetery.

He was born March 20, 1875 in Dubuque County. He came to Dubuque in 1906 and lived here until 10 years ago when he moved to Durango. He retired 20 years ago from the Milwaukee railroad shops.

Mr. Becker was a member of the Sherrill Congregational Church. He also belonged to Orioles Nest No. 11.

Survivors are a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, three brothers and five sisters.
