Sister M. Monica O'ConnorRSM
Sister M.Monica O'Connor, RSM, 84, member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy, Detroit, Province, for 57 years died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Hospital. She had been ill for three weeks.
Friends may call at St. Anthony's Home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony's Home chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Hoffman Mortuary.Sister M. Monica was born April 14, 1868, at Epworth, daughter of Timothy and Bridget O'Connor.
She entered the community of the Sisters of Mercy in 1895 and was professed in January, 1897.
She served in the community's hospitals in Mason City, Ia., Waverly, Ia., and for many years at Clinton, Ia. She had been at St. Anthony's Home since 1947. She observed the golden jubilee of her profession that year.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Casey, Epworth, a brother, James O'Connor, Greene, Ia., and nieces and nephews. Her parents and two sisters preceded her.
