MRS. ELIZABETH JANE ELLWANGER

Death summoned Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Ellwanger, widow of Herman A. Ellwanger, Saturday morning at 8:20 o’clock at the residence of Mrs. Anna Weland, 205 Kaufman Avenue, with whom she had made her home for the past year. Although she had not been in the best of health for several months, she had been up and around and her passing came very suddenly and unexpectedly.
Mrs. Ellwanger was born in Dubuque on Sept 14, 1855, and was in her seventy-third year. She had made Dubuque her home during her entire lifetime. She was a member of the First Congregational church and Shiloh Circle, Woman’s Relief Corps.

Three children survive. They are Mrs. Charles A. Stoltz, Clinton, IA.; Harry P. and John C. Dubuque. Two brothers, John Dunkley and James Street, both of Dubuque, and nine grandchildren also survive. Her husband preceded her in death August 2, 1920, a son, Herbert J,. died in 1904, and her daughter, Mrs. O. L. Sohl, in 1921.

The remains have been taken to the home of her son, John C. Ellwanger, 1652 Lawndale avenue, where funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2;30 o’clock. Dr. A. R. McLaughlin of First Congregational church will officiate. Interment will be in Linwood.
