WAPLES HOUSE

DUBUQUE, IOWA

PETER WAPLES,
OWNER AND PROPRIETOR

THIS large and commodious Hotel, located on the corner of Main and Second Street, in the city of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly kept by H. Curtis, is now under the charge and superintendence of the owner, and receive in all its departments his devoted and particular attention. The rooms are spacious and well ventilated; and the general arrangement of the House such as must give satisfaction even to the most fastidious. The patronage of the traveling public and others is solicited, and those who may sojourn at this establishment may rely upon receiving every attention and comfort, usually found at any other house in the West, and ever exertion will be used to contribute towards the enjoyment of the guests, and to make the house, in fact, inferior to none west of the Alleghenies. The healthy, romantic and beautiful location of Dubuque and vicinity; -- the abundance of game –- the variety of amusing and wholesome pursuits which present themselves, together with the extensive and novel field for mineral, geological and botanical specimens and researches, render this a most desirable point for our southern friends to renovate and enliven body and spirit during the summer months. No location upon the Mississippi can combine so many advantages, of health, curiosity and amusement. In proof of this we confidently invite all to come and see for themselves. Come especially and try whether the Waples House will not confer all, and even more than is promised. Feeling confident that no person will leave dissatisfied with the FARE the price will certainly be no cause for complaint.
