Dubuque Daily Times, Saturday, Jan 30, 1875, Dubuque, IA, Page: 4

Lower Locust Street had a sensation yesterday afternoon. One John Cain, in a drunken fit, entered the store of Mr. Mulligan, and commenced, breaking things up, winding up by demolishing several lights of glass. Henry Cosgrove, clerk in the store, undertook to eject Cain, and then “Cain” was raised generally and promiscuously. Cain resisted; struck Cosgrove, and a lively battled ensued, in which Cain was badly worsted, receiving a cut in his lip, that required the attention of a surgeon. Both men were arrested by officer Keneally, who separated them from their battle, and will appear before Justice Griswold to answer.
