INDEPENDENT FIRE DEPARTMENT-Pursuant to a call the members of the several engine and hose companies disbanded by resolution of the City Council, met last evening and formed an independent fire department. Henry Riker, of Hawkeye Hose Company, presided, and P. H. Halpin, of No. 2, was appointed Secretary.
