RIVER NEWS
While the river boat Kate Waters neared the railroad bridge, about noon yesterday, she blew her cylinder head out and became so unmanageable that she ran upon the ice breaker at the draw pier with such force that she almost climbed it. She stove her bows in a bad shape and found it necessary to blow her distress whistle for the Gregoire, which put to her rescue immediately, and towed her to Dunleith. Carpenters are now at work putting in a bulk head. When this is completed, she will go on the ways at Eagle Point, for repairs. As may be expected, the rafts which she had in tow started down the river. The Gregoire continued her good work followed them down stream and captured them.
