First Boat of the Season
The steamer Northwestern, Capt. Davidson, arrived here yesterday half past two o’clock from St. Louis, the first boat of the season. She left St. Louis on Saturday noon, baying on a large freighting of manufacture and goods of various descriptions. She will take on about 200 tons at this wharf of pork, grain and flour and return today. Quite a large number of people were at the wharf to see her come in, and a glad sight it was, when the old boat was seen rounding Catfish Island. Another business year with the boats is opened, and it looks more promising than last year. If not the boats will declare their dividends. The Minnesota will be the next boat up of this line.
The Red Wing will be the next boat to leave this port for below.
