THE CALF CASE
~
It is Now on Trial in the District Court
~
The trial of the calf case has begun before a jury in district court yesterday. The case is styled on the calendar as Sullivan vs. McAleese, and it comes before the court on appeal from the judgement of the tribunal whereat Squire Cooney presides. Frank Jess for defendant and D. J. Lenehan and W. J. Cantillion for plaintiff are the attorneys in the case.

Plaintiff alleges having in 1890 a calf in Wm. G. Watter’s pasture without his knowledge and that the calf during the flood the same year was carried onto the farm of McAleese, who returned it to the pasture, and finding no owner for it, claimed it. McAleese says the calf he found was not plaintiffs.
