ALL FOOL’S DAY
~
This is All Fools Day, April 1st. Beware of tricks and jokes being played upon you, and above all keep a look out behind when you pass through the streets for streamers attached to your garments. Don’t pick up the bricks lying upon the walk, nicely done up like a package of sugar just dropped from a basket. Don’t kick all the old cans you see on the sidewalk, or you will go away limping with a sore toe. Don’t pick up glittering pieces of silver on your travels, there is no such money lying around loose these days unless it has a string tied to it. Refuse all invitations to parties in the outskirts of city; you will find, after running through the mud and darkness, that there is to be no party. Pass along without stopping to pick up any well stuffed pocket books.
