KLAN KLONKLAVE A SUCCESS

The third annual klonklave of Jackson County Ku Klux Klan, held at the Gibson field north of the fair grounds, was held Saturday, August 7, the date being postponed from the preceding Saturday on account of the weather and roads at that time.

Saturday, Aug. 7, however, was an ideal day, and while the afternoon crowd was not so large as usual, due to the fact that most farmers were threshing, the evening crowd far surpassed that of former years, it being estimated that eight thousand people were on the grounds. An unusually large contingent was present from Dubuque, which included a band, drill teams, male quartet and dramatic company, while Clinton, Scott and Muscatine counties were also well represented.

The day and evening program as advertised was carried out in full and the naturalization ceremony, which concluded the evening program, was a beautiful and spectacular sight.
