Mr. Maxime & Millicent St. John

Mr. Maxime St. John was born in St. Rock, Montreal, Canada on March 24, 1813. Mrs. St. John was born about 1808. The coupe came to Illinois for a short time before settling in the Farley area about 1868. The had seven children: Maxine Jr. of Farley; Frank, Kansas City; William, Edward and Paul of Farley and later of St. Paul; Mrs. C. DeRome of Kansas City; Mrs. Lizzie Danning of Kansas City; Mrs. Phemic League of Nebraska.

Maxime St. John died in July 1890 at the age of 77. Following his death, Mrs. St. John went to Kansas City to reside with her children. After an illness of two years, Millicent St. John passed away in April 1907. Her body was brought back to Farley to be buried next to her husband. She was 82. Maxime had been a stone cutter, as were his four sons. Frank had a marble shop, while the other sons were employed at the Arquitt Quarry for a time.
