George & Ida (Pins) Schmitt

George Schmitt (1885-1960) and Ida Pins (1889-1959) were married at Bankston, Iowa. They operated the Schmitt and Lawler Grocery in Farley which was located where the present Memorial Hall stands. George also bought and sold cattle and hogs. He served as a town council member and was Justice of the Peace in Farley and was clerk for many local sales. Ida worked as postal clerk for many years. They had no children.
