Michael Connell was an early resident of Farley, and was born about 1831 in Wicklow, Ireland. Michael immigrated in 1849. He spent five years in N. Y. state. Later Mr. Connell settled between Epworth and Farley in Section 9 of Taylor Township, in the early 1850’s. In 1857, Michael married Catherine Seery who died on Jan. 21, 1890 at the age of 62. Michael died May 1, 1907 at age 76. Both are buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Farley. Also buried by their parents are several of the children. The Connell’s had eight: John L., Jan. 1863-Oct. 1895; Margaret, 1868-1954; Delia, 1866-1949; Julia 1859-?; Charles W.; Thomas; Mary (Mrs. John P. Sanner); Mrs. Dan King.
