Dubuque Telegraph Herald, Tuesday, May 26, 1903

The inquest over the body of the late Michael Majerus will be held Saturday by Coroner Hoar. The body was brought to the city yesterday afternoon from Graf station where the death occurred and has been removed to the home of the deceased sister on Stafford Avenue. When the accident occurred yesterday morning Majerus was driving up the grade to the crossing just west of Graf. At this point there is a bend in the railroad track and it was on account of the train coming around this corner that Majerus could not get out of the way of the approaching train which was an hour late and which the driver of the wagon evidently did not expect. When picked up in the ditch his leg, arm and many other bones in the body were broken and his skull was also fractured. At the time of his death he was working a farm near Graf belonging to John Lattner.
