RETURN OF BENJAMIN RUPERT-Mr. Rupert presented yesterday, to the Institute Museum, some of the specimens he collected on his California trip. Among them was a specimen of granite used in the building at Salt Lake, also a specimen of the rock of the Sierra Nevada, two hundred feet above the sea, and also specimens of porphyry from the railroad cuttings, in the Rocky Mountains, 8,235 above tide water, at the station of the U. R. R. R. named Sherman. This compliment to the Institute, from Mr. Rupert, will be appreciated, and his name will be attached to the specimens he presented.
