The S. S. President, a well-known, an all steel luxury excursion steamer, cruises the Mississippi in the 1940’s. The vessel offered moon-light excursions (for 75 cents) that featured dance bands. The President promoted its four “Hollywood” powder rooms, five “luxuriously appointed” lounges and the Rainbow Ballroom.
